When is the right time to get Home healthcare services?
A registered nurse (RN) or a general duty assistant (GDA) sometimes choose to provide medical assistance to the elderly and patients by visiting their home instead of the patients going to the nursing homes or hospitals for long term treatment. Also called as a home care nurse, these in-house caregivers usually visit the house of the patients taking care of the patients by giving them timely injections, dressing the wounds, helping them in their personal needs etc.
The patients in most cases are elderly, disabled, chronically ill, or cognitively impaired to take care of themselves on their own. The home caregivers are skilled, qualified, experienced to provide medical treatment and in handling most of the health-related issues of the patients.
You Care is an organization that helps families who need professionally trained caregivers find each other. We call ourselves as helpers who are trying to extend a helping hand to those who are in need of it in a professional way.
Our in-house caregivers are trained to handle the medical requirements of the patients and personal care such as grooming, feeding, etc. Our caregivers are polite, assertive, compassionate, and capable of handling emergency situations. At the same time, they also know how to encourage patients to be active, independent to the point where it doesn’t cause them discomfort and help them with physical exercises.
In-house nurses and home caregivers have slightly different roles to play. The in-house nurses are trained and focus more on the medical aspect of the patients like vital monitoring and injecting intravenous fluids while home caregivers assist them with the ADL (Activities of Daily Living) such as personal hygiene, dressing, feeding, etc.
The home caregivers are not medically trained to handle the complex issues of providing medical assistance but they do help in taking the prescribed medicines and handle the ADL and IADL (Instrumental Activities of Daily Living) such as cleaning and maintaining the overall hygiene of the caregivers, bringing groceries, running errands, etc.
You Care provides families with customized care plans to find the perfect caregiver for their loved ones.
